Formed in 2013, Kicking Sunrise began their career after posting a cover of Justin Timberlake’s “Suit and Tie” on YouTube, which garnered over 30,000 views within the first month. The band is comprised of Joe Murphy (Lead singer/rhythm guitar), Ryan Hornibrook (bass, vocals), Matt Bosco (lead guitar), and Mark Altamuro (drums). Kicking Sunrise released their first single “Here’s to the Sunrise” in 2015 which caught the attention of CBS3 Philly, quickly leading to them becoming the house band for the station.
They released their first EP, “When It’s Right,” in the winter of 2018. Since its release, Kicking Sunrise has played shows throughout the country, including dates opening up for multi-platinum recording artists such as O-Town, Aaron Carter, and Tyler Hilton. The band released their latest single, “Stay Beautiful”, on January 25, 2019. “Stay Beautiful” is the first release off of their forthcoming EP and is now available on all streaming platforms.
